xgettext.pl - Extract translatable strings from source
xgettext.pl [ -u ] [ -g ] [ -o outputfile ] [ inputfile... ]
[ -u ] Disables conversion from Maketext format to Gettext format -- i.e. it leaves all brackets alone. This is useful if you are also using the Gettext syntax in your program.
[ -g ] Enables GNU gettext interoperability by printing #, perl-maketext-format before each entry that has % variables.
#, perl-maketext-format
%
[ -o outputfile ] PO file name to be written or incrementally updated - means writing to STDOUT. If not specified, messages.po is used.
-
[ inputfile... ] are the files to extract messages from.
This program extracts translatable strings from given input files, or from STDIN if none are given.
Please see Locale::Maketext::Extract for a list of supported input file formats.
