External dependencies are installed automatically at first use if the brew executable is available in the $PATH. Alternatively, dependencies can be installed (either using apt-get, brew or manually) by the user prior or after installing the distribution itself. brew is the main command of the Homebrew package manager https://brew.sh/.

apt-get
Note that any test requiring a missing dependency is skipped when testing.
