Data::BLNS - A Perl interface to the Big List of Naughty Strings
This document describes Data::BLNS version 20182514.062550
use Data::BLNS; my @list = get_naughty_strings(); for my $next_str ( @list ) { test_something_with( $next_str ); }
This module exports a single function: get_naughty_strings()
get_naughty_strings()
A call to that function returns a list of approximately 500 strings that may cause problems when used as user input. The list originates from minimaxir's GitHub repository
This list may also be useful as a test dataset for subroutines or modules that use or manipulate strings.
This subroutine takes no arguments and returns a list of the naughty strings. In scalar or void contexts, it throws an exception.
Useless use of get_naughty_strings() in a non-list context
The subroutine returns a list of strings. You called it in scalar or void context, so it couldn't return that list. Put the call in a list context.
Data::BLNS requires no configuration files or environment variables.
