WWW::Shorten::EkDk - Perl interface to add.redir.ek.dk
use WWW::Shorten::EkDk; use WWW::Shorten 'EkDk'; $short_url = makeashorterlink($long_url); $long_url = makealongerlink($short_url);
A Perl interface to the web site add.redir.ek.dk. EkDk simply maintains a database of long URLs, each of which has a unique identifier. The website permits you to specify an email address as well, but this API doesn't (yet).
The function makeashorterlink will call the EkDk web site passing it your long URL and will return the shorter EkDk version. Unlike many of the other services, EkDk will return an error if the name has been previously defined, even if it was defined with the same URL.
makeashorterlink
The function makealongerlink does the reverse. makealongerlink will accept as an argument either the full EkDk URL or just the EkDk identifier.
makealongerlink
If anything goes wrong, then either function will return undef.
undef
makeashorterlink, makealongerlink
Please report any requests, suggestions or bugs via the system at http://rt.cpan.org/, or email <bug-WWW-Shorten@rt.cpan.org>. This makes it much easier for me to track things and thus means your problem is less likely to be neglected.
