WWW::Shorten::qURL - Perl interface to qURL.net
use WWW::Shorten 'qURL'; $short_url = makeashorterlink($long_url); $long_url = makealongerlink($short_url); $long_url = makealongerlink($nickname);
A Perl interface to the web site qURL.net. qURL.net simply maintains a database of long URLs, each of which has a unique identifier.
The function makeashorterlink will call the qURL.net web site passing it your long URL and will return the shorter (qURL) version.
makeashorterlink
The function makealongerlink does the reverse. makealongerlink will accept as an argument either the full qURL URL or just the qURL identifier/nickname.
makealongerlink
If anything goes wrong, then either function will return undef.
undef
Multiple submissions of the same URL will result in the same code being returned.
makeashorterlink, makealongerlink
Please report any requests, suggestions or bugs via the system at http://rt.cpan.org/, or email <bug-WWW-Shorten@rt.cpan.org>. This makes it much easier for me to track things and thus means your problem is less likely to be neglected.
