NAME

Bencher::Scenario::MathBigFloat::Subtract - Benchmark subtracting 0.5 from 50, 100 times

VERSION

This document describes version 0.001 of Bencher::Scenario::MathBigFloat::Subtract (from Perl distribution Bencher-Scenarios-MathBigFloat), released on 2017-12-09.

SYNOPSIS

To run benchmark with default option:

 % bencher -m MathBigFloat::Subtract

To run module startup overhead benchmark:

 % bencher --module-startup -m MathBigFloat::Subtract

For more options (dump scenario, list/include/exclude/add participants, list/include/exclude/add datasets, etc), see bencher or run bencher --help.

DESCRIPTION

Packaging a benchmark script as a Bencher scenario makes it convenient to include/exclude/add participants/datasets (either via CLI or Perl code), send the result to a central repository, among others . See Bencher and bencher (CLI) for more details.

BENCHMARKED MODULES

Version numbers shown below are the versions used when running the sample benchmark.

Math::BigFloat 1.999808

BENCHMARK PARTICIPANTS

  • Math::BigFloat (perl_code)

    Code template:

     my $n = Math::BigFloat->new("50"); my $m = Math::BigFloat->new("0.5"); for (1..100) { $n->bsub($m) } $n->bstr
  • native (perl_code)

    Code template:

     my $n = 50; for (1..100) { $n -= 0.5 } $n

SAMPLE BENCHMARK RESULTS

Run on: perl: v5.24.0, CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) M-5Y71 CPU @ 1.20GHz (2 cores), OS: GNU/Linux LinuxMint version 18.2, OS kernel: Linux version 4.8.0-53-generic.
