fix warning in bad test (thanks, Todd Rinaldo - RT#130494)
speed up code that was accomodating ancient perl versions that are no longer supported

Report errors from perspective of caller of a "clan" of modules

To install Carp::Clan, copy and paste the appropriate command in to your terminal.

cpanm Carp::Clan

perl -MCPAN -e shell
install Carp::Clan
