use sv_catpvn instead of sv_catpvf for string values (works with binary data blobs) as reported by many.

Faster conversions to/from Bencode format

To install Convert::Bencode_XS, copy and paste the appropriate command in to your terminal.

cpanm Convert::Bencode_XS

perl -MCPAN -e shell
install Convert::Bencode_XS
