Changes for version 0.002 - 2026-09-11

  • Document that runners are matched by name, method calls included, and what that means for a method that runs commands on another machine: name it for what it does rather than annotating every call.
  • A runner name used as a hash key -- ( run => 'ssh-keygen' ) -- is no longer read as a call.
  • IPC::Cmd::run's named command => argument is read, as the POD for 0.001 claimed and the code did not.
  • Capture::Tiny's capture_merged, capture_stdout, capture_stderr, tee and tee_merged are no longer read as runners. They capture a block of perl, not a command, and a shell-out inside the block is already reported as whatever it is. capture stays, as IPC::System::Simple's.
  • IPC::System::Simple's capturex, runx and systemx are read as runners.
  • A runners parameter names more subs to read as runners -- a project's own wrapper around system, say. It adds to the defaults rather than replacing them.
