NAME

Spreadsheet::HTML::Presets::Beadwork - Generate patterns in HTML table cell backgrounds.

DESCRIPTION

This is a container for Spreadsheet::HTML preset methods. These methods are not meant to be called from this package. Instead, use the Spreadsheet::HTML interface:

  use Spreadsheet::HTML;
  my $generator = Spreadsheet::HTML->new;
  print $generator->beadwork(
      art => '/path/to/ascii-art.txt',
      map => '/path/to/mappings.json',
  );

  # or
  use Spreadsheet::HTML qw( beadwork );
  print beadwork(
      art => '/path/to/ascii-art.txt',
      map => '/path/to/mappings.json',
  );

METHODS

  • beadwork( preset, art, map, bgcolor, %params )

    Generates beadwork patters in the name of ASCII art.

      beadwork(
          art => '/path/to/ascii-art.txt',
          map => '/path/to/mappings.json',
          bgcolor => 'gray',
      )

    art contains the ASCII picture and map contains the color for each symbol in the ASCII picture in a hash. See source code for preset examples of the art and map data structures.

    Some prefabricated examples are available via the preset param:

    • mario

    • dk

    • 1up

    • apple

    • cartman

    • homer

      beadwork( preset => 'dk' )

    Mapped colors can be overriden by their key number:

      beadwork(
          art => '/path/to/ascii-art.txt',
          map => '/path/to/mappings.json',
          -3  => 'blue',
      )

    Works well with presets. Change Cartman's cap and mitten colors:

      beadwork( preset => 'cartman', -2 => 'purple', -3 => 'green' )
