Changes for version 0.004 - 2026-10-27

  • Rebuild Linux::Event::HTTP as a thin Linux-native integration of Unblock::HTTP. This is an incompatible API replacement; previous Linux::Event::HTTP Request, Response, Transaction, and connection wrappers have been removed, without compatibility aliases.
  • Use canonical Uniform::HTTP messages and real Unblock transactions. Support HTTP/1 over TCP/TLS, optional HTTP/2 with TLS ALPN and multiplexing, and optional HTTP/3 through Net::QUIC and TLS.
  • Provide Server and Client APIs for full-body and streaming operations, pooling, cancellation, backpressure, bounded receive, graceful shutdown, and TLS hostname verification.
  • Support HTTP/1 socket-wide Upgrade/CONNECT, WebSocket transitions, and HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 stream-local Extended CONNECT and WebSocket.
  • Bridge Linux::Event borrowed native input to the separate HTTP/1 and HTTP/2 engine ABIs without duplicating the protocol parsers.
  • Require published Unblock::HTTP 0.03, Unblock::HTTP1 0.13, Uniform::HTTP 0.06 and Linux::Event 0.117. Keep HTTP/2, HTTP/3/Net::QUIC, and WebSocket engines optional.
  • Verify strict HTTP/2 h2spec 147/147 parity, real QUIC/TLS loopbacks, WebSocket handoff, cross-Perl tests and disttest.
  • Measure HTTP/1 throughput against the original implementation, document its additional canonical object/lifecycle cost, and retain the proven event-loop-neutral design without adding public API shortcuts or extra upstream release requirements.
  • Coordinate with Linux::Event::WebSocket 0.003, which replaces its dependency on removed HTTP internals with standalone Unblock::HTTP1. WebSocket 0.002 remains incompatible; release WebSocket 0.003 before publishing this HTTP 0.004 upgrade.
