By 5.7.2 it seems that the pushed argument is passed in as &sv_undef rather than NULL. I wasn't testing SvOK() and was getting use of uninitialized value errors.

Perl extension to provide a PerlIO layer to gzip/gunzip

To install PerlIO::gzip, copy and paste the appropriate command in to your terminal.

cpanm PerlIO::gzip

perl -MCPAN -e shell
install PerlIO::gzip
