Changes for version 3.1801 - 2026-06-12

new() now checks/sets $ENV{RPI_PIN_MODE} (the variable the rest of the RPi:: ecosystem uses) instead of the never-read RPI_PIN_SCHEME; previously the guard never fired, so setup_gpio() was always run, restamping the pin numbering scheme to GPIO even when the consuming application had set up WPI mode
Bump prereq of WiringPi::API to 3.1801
Bump prereq of RPi::Const to 1.05

To install RPi::LCD, copy and paste the appropriate command in to your terminal.

cpanm RPi::LCD

perl -MCPAN -e shell
install RPi::LCD
