SYNOPSIS

        dbman_find.pl [options]

DESCRIPTION

This program is here to help you search the manual page database. The manual page database is basically a three-tuple collection (discarding technical details which are of no concern). The three-tuple is: name - name of the manual page item. description - one liner about what this manual page is about. content - content of the manual page.

You can use this software to search for a manual page according to each of the three components - name, description or content.

If you are used to the legacy manual system than this: dbman_find.pl perl is the same thing as: man -k perl since by default this software searches according to the one line description in order to keep some kind of look and feel compatibility with the old man system.

Where this command is different is that you can search according to each combination of the three-tuple. For example: dbman_find.pl --name --nodescription --content [expression] will search for manual pages whose name or content matches the expression [expression] (with no regard to the one line description).
