Standard 14 (PDF) font metrics: char_width, string_width, ascender, descender, cap_height, x_height, line_height, kern_pair — data from Adobe AFM files.
TrueType/OpenType font loader: cmap formats 4 and 12, hmtx, hhea, OS/2, and kern (format 0) table parsing.

advance widths, kerning and metrics for Standard 14 and TrueType fonts

To install Font::Metrics, copy and paste the appropriate command in to your terminal.

cpanm Font::Metrics

perl -MCPAN -e shell
install Font::Metrics
