NAME

Perinci::CmdLine::Plugin::Run::Normal - Normal run

VERSION

This document describes version 1.929 of Perinci::CmdLine::Plugin::Run::Normal (from Perl distribution Perinci-CmdLine-Lite), released on 2023-11-23.

DESCRIPTION

A Run:: plugin is the main plugin that runs at the run event, which is fired by Perinci::CmdLine's run() method.

Multiple Run::* plugins can be registered at the run event, but only one will actually run because they return 201 code which instruct Perinci::CmdLine to end the event early.

The Run::Normal plugin (this plugin) is the plugin run at normal mode. It calls the designated Riap function with arguments from user's command-line arguments (and/or configuration file, and/or environment variable), and then display the return value. However, instead of calling the function, there are also other alternative actions that can be performed instead like help, meta, etc.

CONTRIBUTING

To contribute, you can send patches by email/via RT, or send pull requests on GitHub.

Most of the time, you don't need to build the distribution yourself. You can simply modify the code, then test via:

 % prove -l

If you want to build the distribution (e.g. to try to install it locally on your system), you can install Dist::Zilla, Dist::Zilla::PluginBundle::Author::PERLANCAR, Pod::Weaver::PluginBundle::Author::PERLANCAR, and sometimes one or two other Dist::Zilla- and/or Pod::Weaver plugins. Any additional steps required beyond that are considered a bug and can be reported to me.
