Changes for version 6.002

  • Keep the Decoder alive when a callback clears its handle variable, preventing use-after-free during decoding and cleanup.
  • Restore builds on older supported Perls without SSize_t_MAX.
  • Run output DESTROY callbacks before capturing the input buffer on Perl 5.24, matching other supported Perls.
  • Avoid corrupting regexp buffers during read-only cleanup on Perl 5.14.
  • Inspect undef aliases without creating writable slots on older Perls. Account for Perl 5.14/5.16's regexp-copy lifetime limitation in tests.
  • Fix huge-size test expectations for 32-bit Perls with 64-bit integers and format allocation diagnostics with the correct argument types.
  • Skip only hobodecoder decompression checks when its optional Compress::Zlib dependency is unavailable, and show child errors.
  • Report the actual missing dependency when skipping t/400_evil.t.
